In brief

 Canadian by birth, Louise is a British Canadian, happily married, residing with her family near Ottawa in rural Ontario. The photo to the left was taken on 2nd October 2020.

Academic

Louise is currently undertaking possibly the greatest academic adventure of her life, as she is  studying for her Doctorate in Education (EdD Leadership, Learning and Organisational Psychology) In 2022, she will commence her dissertation. Her research interests revolve around the need for fairness and equality, and psychological safety for all in the workplace, together with negative effects of workplace bullying during employment and after the job ends.


 Louise has already attained the following:

  • Masters of Science degree in Business and Management from the University of Essex (Merit)
  • Graduate Diploma in Law, Leeds Business School (Merit)
  •  BA Hons Modern Languages [German, French and Russian] 4 yrs University of Sheffield

Professional experience

Louise is a full-time as a college professor of business for a college in Montreal QC Canada, teaching a variety of business subjects and software. This position was on campus until the pandemic started and Louise smoothly transitioned her large classes of business students from India to an online format in March 2020, using regular Zoom meetings and making good use of  a variety of audio-visual, video and text-based assignments and quizzes to keep engagement and learning at a high level. 


Prior to that, Louise ran a successful business: Louise J Goddard NLP Performance Coaching and Training  2007-2018 in Ottawa and Calgary; and has been an educational manager, course designer and executive trainer in various different counties; plus, she has worked in IT as a systems engineer in London, England, Ottawa, Canada and Napa, California.

Interests

Leadership, psychology, organisational psychology, business, organisational behaviour, psychological safety in the work place, work culture - in particular the effects of a positive empowering work culture vs a toxic work culture on the individual; and the effects of resilience development in business and sports teams.

Sports background

Fitness and sports have been part of Louise's whole life but equestrian activities - dressage, cross-country and showjumping, swimming - was a member of a national team competing for GB in competitions in Europe - and (field) hockey feature as the three sports at which a very high level of ability was attained.

Louise Goddard is the founder of Goddard Leadership, Performance Coaching and Organisational Psychology, a new international organisation of 2020 whose mission is to educate and inspire companies to develop high-performing emotionally intelligent leaders who foster positive workplace cultures where self-actualisation for everyone not only is permitted but is encouraged and facilitated. Formerly, the business was Goddard Hypnosis and NLP which Louise ran from 2007 to 2018. These services are still available under the new positioning of the company – Louise’s particular interest in 2020 is to provide support to faculty at schools, colleges and universities and frontline workers to alleviate anxiety and stress-related issues.


Louise teaches and speaks at online conferences attended by hundreds of professionals all over the globe, challenging people to let go of limiting beliefs, and realise their potential. Her work has been featured by the press in over 20 different newspapers across Canada as she has helped thousands of people make positive changes, sometimes lifesaving changes, throughout the years since 2007.

Prior to starting her own company, Rebecca has worked for major multi-national organisations such the BBC, MCI, EDS. 

Well-known as a thought leader in NLP and Hypnosis circles, Louise is the author of the book, ‘Confidence Matters’, published by Austin McCauley. Her books demonstrate Louise’s realistic approach to facilitating positive change. 

Louise has worked with top executives across Europe from PricewaterhouseCoopers, Levi Strauss & Co., Coca-Cola Deutschland, Osborne Group, Nokia Corporation, Canon, Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW), Hewlett-Packard Company and many more, providing tailored intensive results-driven business on-site training. She has also worked as a Virtual manager overseeing faculty and over 1400 students over an eight year period.

Through repositioning her business, Louise transform workplace cultures so everyone can thrive in a positive collaborative learning environment. She educates on subjects such as positive psychology applied in the workplace and emotionally intelligent leadership. Her passion is ignited by a strong desire to shine a light on and eradicate psychological harassment, favouritism, discrimination, in the workplace and help organisations cleanse toxic work cultures or sub-cultures so that everyone equally can flourish. 

In her new series, ‘Leadership Talks’, Louise interviews great leaders the purpose being to educate and inspire others in leadership roles and give hope to those who are stuck working in negative work cultures.

Louise holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in German, Russian & French from the University of Sheffield and a Master of Science Degree (Merit) in Business & Management from the University of Essex. She is currently on the last leg of a Doctorate in Education: Leadership, Learning and Organisational Psychology.
